Syria Relief is sending a convoy of aid to Syria

Following a recent trip by one of Syria Relief Trustees to Turkey and Northern Syria, a detailed needs assessment was carried out, to establish the priorities of aid needed by the people of Syria.  As a result, we have decided to organize an aid convoy to deliver much needed supplies and equipment to inside Syria.

The ambitious plan involves purchasing and equipping ten ambulances, in addition to the ambulances that have already been delivered by Syria Relief to our colleagues inside Syria.  These ambulances will be driven by volunteers to Syria, and will be loaded with much needed medical equipment and emergency medical bags, medications, a dental chair, new winter clothes, and other urgently needed material.

The convoy will also include specialist medical teams, consisting mostly of Syrian doctors working in the UK, who will be volunteering their skills and expertise to help the Syrian refugees in camps inside Turkey and along the border.

Syria Relief  would like to urge you all to give generously to fund this vital and ambitious project.  Your donations will be most gratefully received by our volunteers in various areas of the UK.  Monetary donations can be given in the usual manner, and donated items will, whenever possible, be picked up by our volunteers.  If you have any items for donation, please contact us on info@syriarelief.org.uk.  Please include your name, address and a contact number, so that our volunteers can get in touch and arrange the pick-up.  Please note that we will only be taking NEW clothes.

The convoy will be leaving the UK on 30th October 2012.

  1. Can we join in and physically take part in the convoy as well? If so, who do we coordinate with?

    • Thank you for your enquiry, Alai.
Regrettably, we now have a full complement of workers for this convoy, and do not require any more volunteers.
Thank you very much indeed for your interest.

  2. MashaAllah, this is a great project. Can you post updates on where the convoy is and what they are doing? It would be great to follow them online.

  3. My company recently provided a PA system and sound engineers for a fund raising concert in London, working with Tariq Obeid. I was so touched by your cause that I am compelled to offer my services to any future convoys which you send to Syria. I am fit and healthy and have vast experience of world travel and driving in non European countries and off road.
I also have experience as a mechanic , navigator and am very comfortable in unknown environments and situations.
    Yours sincerely

    • Thank you very much indeed for the generous offer. We will keep you in mind next time we plan something along those lines, where your skills and expertise would be most valuable…
      Many thanks again.
