Syria Relief was launched in September 2011, as a UK-based Charity, and is fully registered with the Charity Commission (UK Charity Registration Number 1143797). It was set up in response to the crisis that has engulfed Syria since March 2011, to provide help and support to Syrian families in need, in Syria and outside it. All the Trustees are highly regarded professionals in their individual fields, and all enjoy the trust and respect of the Syrian expatriate community across the UK. We all have extensive networks of links within the UK, in Syria, and elsewhere, which are immensely useful, both for raising funds, and perhaps more importantly, in distributing the money raised where it is most needed: inside Syria. With our wide network of contacts within Syria, we are optimally positioned to facilitate the dissemination of humanitarian aid directly to the areas where such aid is needed. Our flexibility and adaptability allow us to respond efficiently and promptly to the very fluid and changeable environment within Syria.
