The clear Syrian sky does little to warm the bitter air as people struggle to survive in the near constant damp and cold. As winter kicks in, camps are now prone to flooding, families living in these make-shift camps are telling our staff that rain water is starting to leak into the tents making the very little clothing and blankets they have wet.
These makeshift tents and improvised shelters are providing little protection from the freezing temperatures. Many of these families who have been forced from their homes are without access to adequate shelter, food, blankets or warm clothes.
Despite the freezing temperatures, each winter we have battled to deliver essential aid to families who have been left vulnerable to Syria’s subzero temperatures.
